Haltija are a dark and ancient race—created, some say, from graveyard dust and bone shards—to serve as stewards of undeath. They are drawn to necromantic magic and view the boundary between life and death as a sacred threshold, not to be feared, but to be preserved.

Rumored to be born from skeleton dust and graveyard soil, Haltija were created to maintain balance between life and undeath. Once unseen, they have begun to reemerge with the rise of necromancy and the growing influence of undead across the kingdom. Feared, misunderstood, and revered in equal measure, Haltija are often called “Guardians of the Graveyard.”

Advantages:
- May purchase Darkness and Undeath Masteries for 100 XP.
- May purchase 10th, 11th, and 12th level spell slots at half cost.
- May purchase Decipher Script and Spellcraft at half cost.
- May purchase Control Undead as a per-day ability for 100 XP per use.
- Start with 1 Elude Undead use per day, and may purchase more for 50 XP each.
- Begin with a Darkness Taint, making them healed by Darkness magic and taglines.
Disadvantages:
- All Weapon Proficiencies cost an additional +50 XP each.
- Terminal Strikes cost an additional +100 XP per purchase.
- May never purchase Two-Handed Edged or Blunt Weapon Skills or their Masteries.
- May not cast Light Magics, or use any items created by, containing, or controlling Light Magic.
