⚒️ Jewelsmithing
Jewelsmithing is the trade skill used to cut and refine raw gemstones into magically attuned components. These refined gems are used in ritual magic, crafted items, and enchantments. All Jewelsmithing must be performed at a Forge or Jeweler’s Bench using appropriate tools and tags.
There is no field use for Jewelsmithing. Refinement actions may be done during events with proper physreps and Marshal oversight, or submitted at Check-In. All refinements must follow the rarity limits and examples outlined below.
🧱 Rarity Limits by Rank
A Jewelsmith may only refine gemstones up to the rarity tier allowed by their rank in the skill.
Rank | Allowed Rarity | Example Outputs |
---|---|---|
1 | Common | Polished Gemstone (non-attuned), Ritual Focus (Basic) |
2 | Uncommon | Elemental Focus Gem, Channeling Crystal (e.g., Fire, Ice, Light) |
3 | Rare | Forged Gem Core (used in socketed items), Ritual Keystone |
4 | Very Rare | Stabilized Focus (durable ritual use or enchantments) |
5 | Exotic | Spell-Locked Gem (holds charges), Masterwork Focus (multi-scroll compatible) |
*Note: The above examples reflect typical outputs and do not provide mechanical effects unless defined in an approved scroll, recipe, or ritual.*
🛠️ Refinement Process
To refine a gemstone:
- Turn in the gem tag representing the raw material, with rarity clearly declared.
- Indicate the gem’s intended use (ritual focus, socketed item, etc.).
- Provide silver cost if required by the related scroll, recipe, or enhancement.
- Have the result physrepped and approved by a Marshal or processed by Logistics.
All refined gemstones must be tagged appropriately. Unless otherwise stabilized, all gems expire one year from their date of creation.
