Wild Elf

Wild Elves are the last true keepers of the old ways—untouched by civilization and proud of it. Rejecting the arcane arts and all things “unnatural,” they live in deep communion with the land. Though often seen as primitive, Wild Elves are cunning, resilient, and fiercely independent.

When magic first came to Volaire, not all Elves embraced it. Some viewed it as a corruption—an affront to the traditions they had sworn to preserve. These Elves abandoned their kin and disappeared into the wilds, becoming what are now known as Wild Elves.

They uphold ancient customs, forge their own tools, and live off the land. Though others may view them as backwards, they are far from simple-minded—Wild Elves are as clever as they are fierce.

Advantages:

• May purchase the Resist Metabolic skill.
• May purchase Craftskills at half cost.
• May purchase the Bow skill at half cost and deal +2 damage with it.
• May purchase Animal Empathy and Speak With Animals.

Disadvantages:

• May never purchase a spell column or wield magical items that carry the “magic” tagline.
• May never hold rank in a barony or guild, nor become a Knight.

• Must have pointed ears
• Clothing and accessories must reflect time spent in the wild (e.g., sticks, vines, leaves, animal pelts)

• Speak plainly but with purpose—Wild Elves don’t waste words
• Treat magic users with suspicion or disdain
• Let your respect for the natural world guide your decisions
• Rivalry or disdain toward other Elves should be a clear part of your interactions

Play a Wild Elf if you want to forsake magic for might, walk the woods alone, and preserve the old ways with bow and blade.
