Drow (Restricted)

The Drow, once High Elves, embraced the dark arts and were cast out by their kin. Banished to the Underdark, they became a matriarchal society hardened by isolation and honed by magic. Fiercely loyal to each other and distrustful of outsiders, Drow walk a shadowed path filled with power, pride, and peril.

The Drow originated as High Elves who sought knowledge in forbidden magics. Their pursuit of power led to their exile into the deep caverns beneath Volaire. Over centuries, they evolved—skin darkened by the lack of sunlight, hearts hardened by betrayal. Matriarchal in structure and ruthless in survival, they see other races as pawns—useful tools at best, expendable nuisances at worst.

A Drow’s loyalty lies with their own kind, and to insult a Drow woman is to risk a swift and brutal death.

• May purchase Resist Metabolic
• May purchase Resist Emotion
• Begin with the Survival skill at no cost
• May purchase Disarm Trap at half cost

Disadvantages:

• Suffer -5 Health in daylight
• May not purchase any Weapon Mastery
• Must pay +50 XP per Weapon Proficiency
• May not purchase any Specialty Fighting skills, including Terminal Strike and Cleave
• May not purchase a Light Magic column
• May never become a “True” Knight
• Will not associate with High Elves unless absolutely necessary and personally beneficial

• Must wear dark grey makeup on all exposed skin
• Must have grey, silver, or white hair
• Must wear pointed ears

• Play up your disdain for the surface world and the betrayal of the High Elves
• Let matriarchal values influence your social interactions
• Be cold, calculating, and aloof—unless manipulating someone to your ends
