The Beastkin are the result of human greed and a ritual gone horribly wrong. Once human, they sought to borrow strength from animals—what they got instead was transformation. Now seen as more beast than man, they walk a lonely path between two worlds.

===== 🌍 Lore =====
The ancient ritual that created the Beastkin has long been lost, and none can agree whether its failure was due to flawed components or twisted fate. Beastkin appear in many forms, often resembling Canines, Felines, Bears, or Scavengers such as Opossums or Rats. 

These animalistic traits are not simply visual—they run deep into their instincts, emotions, and behaviors. As such, Beastkin are often distrusted, living on the fringes of society or hiding among it under heavy costuming.

===== ⚔️ Racial Traits =====

**Advantages:**
  * Start with **+1 Strength** and **+3 Health**
  * May purchase **Animal Empathy** and **Speak With Animals**
  * Begin with **Survival** skill **at no cost**
  * Receive **1st Level Tracking** for free
  * May purchase **Resist Metabolic** and **Resist Poison** every 5 levels

**Disadvantages:**
  * May **never use Blunt Weapons**
  * May **never become a Knight**
  * Must pay **double XP** for **Literacy**, **Read Magic**, and **Decipher Script**
  * **Scavenger** types (e.g., Opossum, Rat, Otter) suffer **-5 Health in daylight**, but gain **+5 Health at night**

  * All **exposed skin must be covered** in a way that visually represents your chosen animal
  * If your animal has a **tail**, you must wear one
  * Costuming must be **clear and specific** to your animal type

  * Embrace your animal instincts—your reactions may be primal
  * Your speech and body language should reflect your hybrid nature
  * Think about your place in the world: feared outsider or cautious survivor?
