Duration Type | Description |
---|---|
Instant | The effect occurs immediately. No count or timer is required. Examples: damage, status infliction, item interactions. |
Timed | The effect has a specific time limit, typically 10 seconds, 1 minute, or 10 minutes. |
Event Duration | The effect lasts until the end of the current game event or until used/dispelled. |
Sight Duration | The effect lasts until the caster is out of line of sight, unconscious, dead, or the spell is broken. |
Dormant | A pre-cast or stored effect that remains ready until discharged or overwritten. Typically lasts 1 event or as defined by the ritual. |
Some actions require a clear and audible countdown to simulate time spent on the task.
