Race-Specific Costuming Requirements

Each playable race in Volaire has unique visual characteristics that help bring the world to life. As part of our commitment to immersion and clarity, the following costuming requirements must be met in order to portray each race accurately.

These requirements apply in addition to the general costuming rules and must be clearly represented on all exposed skin and visible attire.

• All exposed skin must be costumed to reflect your chosen animal type.
• You must have a tail if your animal would have one.
• Costume should clearly represent your animal (ears, fur, markings, etc.).

• 4-panel wings are required.
• Pointed ears must be worn at all times.
• Colored “veins” representing your chosen element must appear on all exposed skin (e.g., blue for water, red for fire).
• Costume should reflect your elemental affinity.
• Optional: glitter, whimsical paint, or decorations to enhance a whimsical look.

• Costuming must reflect chaos and instability.
• Multi-colored “veins” (e.g., blue, yellow, red, green) must be visible on all exposed skin to represent clashing elements.

• All exposed skin must be covered in dark grey makeup.
• Hair must be gray, silver, or white.
• Must wear pointed ears at all times.

• All Dwarves (regardless of gender) must wear a beard at least six inches long.

• Clothing must be bright and decorated with shiny trinkets or sewn-in “bobbits.”
• Must reflect vibrant, non-tacky nomadic fashion.
• Female Ramtovi may wear pants only if legs are not exposed.

• Must display metallic golden glyphs on all exposed skin.

• 50% of all exposed skin must be colored purple.
• Must have at least one horn and one spaded tail at all times.

• 50% of all exposed skin must be yellow.
• Must have at least one tusk.

• 50% of all exposed skin must be green.
• Must have at least one tusk.

• Must have dark shadows beneath the eyes.
• Must display a special visible marking denoting their magical station.

• Must wear small 2-panel wings (no elemental colors).
• Must display veins in black, grey, or white on all exposed skin.
• Must have at least 2 horns.
• Pointed ears are optional.

• Must have pointed ears.
• Costume and accessories should reflect time spent in the wilderness (e.g., vines, leaves, bark, sticks).
